... and the warm sunny weather continues... almost unbelievable for Montreal in November. Here is today's installment:
- the first pic is for the sake of the canoe, taken in Les Cedres, QC. The cedar canoe is a reproduction built in the early'80's, is 44.5' long, carries 22 paddlers and 18 passengers. It sits on permanent display in a waterfront park at the centre of town
- the second is on the waterfront in Hudson QC looking across the Ottawa River at the village of Oka (you can see church spire). The specs on the water in the middle ground are Canada geese paddling about.

Yup DE, still got Canada geese in Canada. They seem to be more common than sparrows, so we sent the overflow a little south. Don'tcha just love 'em, especially when they congregate in parks and leave slick little souvenirs all over the place???
My back property line is a fresh-water stream with a hundred yards of beaver marsh on either side of the channel.

I've had flocks of 50+ in my back yard off and on all year. They don't even look up as long as I don't get closer than about 10 feet.

And yeah, free fertilizer EVERYWHERE!

Florida is full of those winged poop machines.

Mississippi as well. I’m told they’re not particularly good to eat. We have plenty of duck hunters here, but they aren’t shooting Canada geese.
Well, my buddy who hunts them claims otherwise. According to him, Canada goose breast is a little like filet mignon. Internet thinks so too. The local hunters don't bother with the other parts.

Canada geese have a mild flavor that results in good eating; done properly, it resembles lean beef in texture. If they are not prepared properly, overcooking the breast meat is a common mistake, the meat can be tough and almost unpalatable.

Too nice to be indoors, Grandson came down, we dug a couple of bikes out of hibernation and went for a ride. Flirting with 70 degrees and lots of sunshine.

I’ll bet that was pretty! Along the coastline. 70 degrees and sunny!? I think you got our weather by mistake, it was 40 degrees this morning when I took off for a ride! Almost noon now and still in the 60’s.

That loop that drops down through East Blue Hill is freakin' GORGEOUS.

With real estate prices to match...

Without delving into particulars, lets just say that someone with my political leanings would be about as welcome there as a turd in a punch bowl. Doesn't stop me from riding through occasionally just to aggravate the pinky-finger tea drinkers...

Where I live in Mo. you can't throw a cat without hittin' a Maga *sign. With only one exception we all get along famously. We all accept without question that we're all Americans first and foremost, and treat each other as such.
... and religion is kept between the individual and their maker... as it should be.

The lone exception is a royal pain in the ass to all the non-maga's.... 'cept me. Eons ago when maga didn't exist, we hunted together. He knows for a fact that I'm the better shot.

* Edit: Sign... bumper sticker... whatever.

Don't tempt me, Mikey. I'm trying to be on my best behavior. Santa Claus, ya know...
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas.Mommy and Daddy are mad.
I'm gettin' nuttin' for Christmas,'Cause I ain't been nuttin' but bad.

If you aint caught you aint been bad
Besides you have the magic plastic in your wallet
