Interesting motorcycles, not XS650

This is the new replacement for the 650 series V-Twin that Suzuki used for so long in its SV street bikes and the DL adventure bikes. The V-Twin 650 was superb, I’m sad to see it go. The replacement is a a 776cc “800” parallel twin. It is much more sophisticated, complex and expensive. 🙁 Otherwise I’m sure it is a well engineered piece. The styling is rather….uh….polarizing. The street version has a front end , that to my eye is reminiscent of the old Katana sport bikes.

BMW had a 800cc parallel twin that saw dual usage in a light sport tourer and an adventure bike, I think they pulled of the styling much better,

Will be interesting see if it sells ..I Think Suzuki over the years has been in " Sync "
with design Had some Hits Pricing is a factor.
750 cc if they can get that working IF the design is " Spacewar ish "
Might still sell.

Interesting read
Thinking out loud the British twins at the end was getting bigger and then more difficult to start.
Heavy to handle for many could be customers
Under 170 lbs owner .. It could be too much
As far as i know the later Triumphs and Norton's did vibrate but not so much that the customers
would go away. If the service was done and it was not a worn bike.
Nortons had rubber mounts for engine if i recall right With good results what I hear.
The quality and the more modern design from the Japs did it

I was at the dealer a month or so And could not find any real Sports bike .
Perhaps one or two.
insurance and usability There was some smaller race bike Looking bike But under powered in my view.
He told me he had a Yamaha R1 ---used everything right that finally was sold to Norway.

So I am thinking this Suzuki can be to large to become a big seller.
750 is perhaps for a more experienced rider but he has many options.
650 or even a 500 But again I am partial to the 650.

Yes, indeed what you said Bob :agree:
I loved reading his stuff, and look forward to reading that article. That new V-Strom 800DE is intriguing me. Could be a good replacement for my DR650, should I do that, although it is somewhat shocking in appearance. o_O I'm looking forward to a demo ride in the spring.
