The John Deere was acquired on a whim. I don't need it but like the look of it. Should probably sell it. I give my grandson rides with it, and when I get real old and the government takes my drivers license away. Maybe I will drive it on the sidewalk to get around. LOL.
The grandson will cherish the memories. My granddaughters loved riding with me at 5-7 ages. Now I let them steer the golf cart. The 12 year old will be given the wheel and the gas next summer.

My garage.
We seem to share the same appreciation for things with two jugs.

There are two solid suppliers in the US, Harpers and MG Cycle. EBay is another great place. Bikes are simple and easy to work on.
A great resource for old Guzzi's is thisoldtractor.com. For the most part these bike are undervalued and can be had for reasonable money.
Just like the XS650 twin they can become addicting. Thank goodness for support groups like this one.

Changed the look of the 1980 XS650. It had a windshield, rack, stock "ape hangers", and the stock cruiser seat. The sissy bar was removed before I even took any pics. I added these bars from Mike's XS: https://www.mikesxs.net/handlebar-7-8-inch-chrome-ltd-g.html They are similar to stock bars from previous years. Also replaced the stock seat with this one to give it the look of previous year models, before Yamaha went with the cruiser look. https://www.ebay.com/itm/113965518000?mkcid=16&mkevt=1... To me, it feels like the bike handles better. I sit "on" the bike now, rather than "in" the bike.
