Was going to ride the GS but whir, dt dt dt dt, put it on the charger. Went over to the XS1 fuel on choke on two three kicks, ignition on and first kick, brrrmm! Took it 'round the country block running good. By the time I got back on the XS, the Beemer had enough juice in the battery to start, that got 15 miles, so two sets of tire tracks on the driveway. Nice having a windshield and heated grips  with temps in the 40's.

I’ll keep the mosquitoes, thanks.

Today I rode to the Bristol Classic Bike Show at the Bath & West showground, Shepton Mallet, as my bike was on the Bath Classic MCC stand. Zero degrees ... and the stand was next to the open door so a cold ride in then a cold day and a cold ride home. Thankfully I have heated gloves! They really help a lot.
As a bonus XSTony was there too and we had a nice chat. Always a pleasure to cross paths with that man.

Here's a few pics of our stand - note the fabulous MV with Arturo Magni extras and read the info sheet! Pics taken before the punters were let in - it was actually a very busy day.

Tomorrow we do it all again. Thankfully it will at least be dry, the Somerset roads are covered in filth and will be greasy as hell if wet. Stuff falling out of local quarry lorries doesn't exactly help.

Cheers -
Cliff

Great photos. Brings a smile to see a Harley flathead. When I saw Bath and West I recalled a nice time the Mrs and I had in Bath 9 years ago, then I mapped it...

Somewhat south of Bath and we were traveling by rail. Lovely countryside there.

Best in show was a Honda 200, very early, never seen one like it. 1950s and the Honda logos were in Japanese. Indicators were 'trafficators' as they were called over here, with flag arms that lifted to horizontal from vertical housings, I should have taken a pic. Stupid of me but I'll see if I can find one.
MV got 2nd in its class. It was my pick of the show though and with such amazing history - Paul Smart, great train robbery (a really big deal over here) and Don Morley, what more could you want?
Altogether a good show and I am now sat in bed, completely defrosted!

In shows, every bike is a winner. Each has a history of some sort.

Heh. I recognised the Schnellschussobjektiv that Morley is waving around.
I'd have killed for one back then, but they were bloody expensive things. I got one during the Great Clear Out of manual lenses and it's still a lovely bit of kit.

This has been a really unusual winter for us here in Arizona, a lot of cold, windy or rainy days. It’s been wave after wave of storm systems coming off the Pacific and sweeping in from California.
I had a window of opportunity yesterday to get out for a while, so I jumped on it.
I was riding through some twisties yesterday and I had my bike heeled over in this sweeping curve just like this 😝

Okay maybe in my mind 😎, anyways I was surprised mid turn when suddenly SCREECH!! My left floorboard touched down. It startled the crap outa me! Fortunately there is a little screw in sacrificial stud on the bottom of the floorboard that is designed to touch first, sorta as a warning. The floorboards are also hinged and spring loaded so they give. Ah well, it’s hard to think of yourself as Ricky Racer when you‘re out there floating around on a cruiser. 😄 But it was still a thrill.
I‘ve still got it! ……if only in my mind.
