2023 Dick Russell Memorial Rally - Mountain View, AR. May 4th - 7th, 2023. Hosted by the Yamaha 650 Society.

I called the # 1-870-269-3851 & choose #1 to get a “real person”. Use the Group ID #677781
But their saying the rally is May 4th-7th
So it's not
Edit: SEPTEMBER 13-17, 2023

Not sure if I understand. The rally is May 4-7. It’s on this thread’s name.
September is the Smokies Rally.

Never mind evidently I can't read the title of the first posting

This is what got me off the mark https://lakebikefest.com/rally-info/

I'm easily confused and the sad thing is that often I'm confusing myself
Confused or not, are you planning to attend? Get together a three bike trailer from Mankato?

Half asleep at the bars,
but only half an hour away.

My buddy Pete and myself and booked and good to go !!
Now the poor soul does not own a 650 but he rides a nice Harley which is not screamingly loud not much louder than a 650
Any who we'll be there unless we get a better offer ( I had to put that disclaimer in there just because, I don't know why it just sounded more official)
And right now the temp there is 29F and here it's a balmy -14 (but it's a dry cold)

The Yamaha 650 Society's yearly peregrination to the Ozarks.
Daily rides around one of the best riding regions in the USA. Rally headquarters at the Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View, AR. Great food, bench racing and the best group of lunatics ever assembled! We usually have meals together but everybody’s welcome to do their own thing. Mountain View is in a dry county so bring your adult beverage of choice and a lawn chair. It helps during overnight transmission replacements. :laugh2:

Book your rooms by calling 1-870-269-3851 & choose #1 to get a “real person”. Use the Group ID #677781 to book your room. There are 2 rooms per bungalow and the Park has reserved a set of bungalows for us. Members are responsible for their own travel arrangements. For more information email John Chaves. jchaves@xs650society.com

The Farewell to Dick AKA grizld1 thread
I just booked a room for Mike and me - so I guess it's official that I'll be there again. I've been working on the '81 SH this winter to address a few little issues that presented themselves last year - tiny oil seep from one of the passage blanking plugs on the front of the upper case (had to replace the original factory "amalgam"), corrosion in the fuse holders (replaced with ATM fuse block and fuses) and am trying to figure out an issue with uneven bedding of the brake pads. My '81 H Special 2 is ready to go, as always, but I'm thinking of giving it a break this year. So - we'll see which one I show up with this time. It appears that we're going to have a really good turnout this year - I'm excited!

Should I bring the Easy-Up so we can work on whatever bike @gggGary is bringing? :laugh2::laugh2:
Yeah MY bike reliability.....

Darn I couldn't find that one where all the bikes were strung out along the road while Chaves tried to fix his carbs (again)
