    New project 1982 GS1100GL

Once the carbs were back in I was too busy riding it to take pictures. :P

    New project 1982 GS1100GL

Nice find! I just picked up my own last year. They're a bitch to tune, but fun to ride. Enjoy!

    Wanted - Harley neck kit

Yes, they sold me the bearings, I forget the price though. I'm not 100% sure about your set of forks. If the stem is 1" diameter and long enough to fit all the way through the XS650 neck tube, then you should be all set. It worked like a charm on the vintage AEE springer that I am using on my...

    Wanted - Harley neck kit

I called TC Bros and asked if they could sell me just the bearings from this kit here: Springer Conversion Kit The races fit directly in the Yamaha neck cups, and the bearings have a 1" ID to match a Harley stem.

    Other Bikes and Workshop Woes

Hey 5Twins, thanks for the tip on the 4mm bits... I'll have to pick up a few of those. I did take one of my flatheads over to the bench grinder and get it to size; I just have trouble feeling the difference between the head shearing off and the jet breaking free... I just need more practice I...

Thanks for that. I remember Kano Kroil! I grew up in rural Alaska, where my father worked as a heavy equipment mechanic... Kano Kroil and Mystic Metal Mover were widely used. Looks like I can order it from Amazon..

    Other Bikes and Workshop Woes

I've hit a snag rebuilding the carbs on my Suzuki. Two of the four pilot jets are seized... like really seized! I've tried everything I can think of to loosen them up: heat gun, propane torch (gently!), boiling them in water for a half-hour, soaking them in PB blaster, penetrating WD...

    Other Bikes and Workshop Woes

I have not taken the carbs out of the Shadow myself. A friend of mine rebuilt them for me. They are buried in there. That's the downside of a more modern bike: everything is packed in a little tighter.

    Other Bikes and Workshop Woes

I've got a bit of a collection going: The Silver Honda Shadow 750 is my daily rider, and most reliable machine to date. Most of my work on her has been visual (brown leathers, white-walls, bubinga key and chock knob, relocated the horn to act as carb cover, added rear fender rack). I did take...

    Beer

I enjoy most types of beer, depending on the food and weather involved. Heineken in the summer, Guinness in the winter months. I've drank beer on four continents, and while I do agree that the Europeans have perfected the brewing craft, there are also a lot of great breweries in the US. I had...

Sold / Found / Inactive - 33 tooth sprocket, oem

Mike's XS sells one as well... may be Chinese too for all I know. For what it's worth, I have a JT sprocket on my Shadow with zero complaints.
