    Fuel System Winterizing.

Thanks Raymond. I'm surrounded by Harley riders. Jets do their turn overhead for final at KCI and we're about 3 miles off the end of RWY18 at the Downtown Airport. Since I spent my life workin' on 'em, I don't mind the jets so much. Harley's on the other hand....

Spring wakeup time. This is the 5th (I think :umm: ) wakeup on this battery... and bike since the resto. Carbs have never been drained in all that time. Battery was a full 12.7v when I parked it... now at 11.6v. Will she wakeup? :wink2:

80 xs650 forks wont fully lower.

Yes, the lowers are cast aluminum... no heat treatment... no nothing... soft aluminum. They'll deform WAY easier than most people would believe. If it worked before you clamped it and now it doesn't, odds are you bent another one. If it makes ya feel better, you ain't the first.

CAN I USE THIS OIL SEAL?

The arrow does indeed make it a directional seal. See the little angled ribs inside the inner lip? Those are there to direct oil back to the inside of the seal, away from the outer lip. You'll always want to follow that arrow direction for rotation or you'll risk leaking oil. As far as the rib...

Just out of curiosity - Airplane Guys

Read a good article on that the other day. I'll put it up here if I remember where it was.... The gist of it was the structural design. Rockets are designed for vertical loading. They're made like a soda can if you will... very light skins that carry the structural loads. In order to...
