    Head race bearings

I built/rebuilt a few bicycles back in the day. I always noted big improvement just having ball bearings clean, properly lubed and adjusted. I'm sure the same is true with rollers.

Aftermarket master cyl. and clutch set?

Hey 5twins. Does the Kawasaki set have a copper sleeve for the cable to ride on? It looks like that in the pic. Sounds like a good idea but would probably wear quickly with a steel cable. Just curious.

    1980 XS650 Special Ignition Pickuo

Nice changes to the bike. Looks like it's coming together. Have you considered buying another whole xs for the parts you need? Seem to be a fair number of them here in the states. It might be cheaper than some of the other alternatives.

    rear suspension bolt, help.

Guessing someone here has experience with that. Stick with it. You'll geterdone.

    rear suspension bolt, help.

Yes, local Ace Hardware or the like should have both of those bolts and a thread finder that will show you the size and thread pitch. As the shock mount bolt you have is too long , why fight to get it in only to pull out and do it again. The sprocket bolts rely on even torque to stay tight...

    1977 XS650

Xs starters tend to sound pretty gnarly and slow compared to a lot of modern bikes. Especially when the oil is cold. Did you add oil?

    rear suspension bolt, help.

Not sure what to tell you. Those lower shock mounts can be a pain. You know that bolt went in before. I would not shave the rubber. You may need to compress the shock a bit to get it to line up. Keep trying. Hammer?

    Starter motor reinstall

Not a hardtail guy, but that is one sweet bike. Calander material for sure. The BSA tank puts it over the top. Good luck with the starter.

50/50 ATF acetone mix for stuck engine ?????

I tried this on a seriously siezed T 500 motor. I don't recommend it . It does separate. Acetone flashes off fast. I realize that most penetrants contain some type of solvent but I've had to much exposure as it is, hate acetone.
