Thanks for the link to that "special tool." Been searching the forum for it! Just ordered one! Regarding the needle jet replacement... do I just pull them out? Seems like a bit of brute force would be required. I have some replacements so was going to just grab some pliers and yank them out...

Hello all! Currently sorting through several things with the 79 650SF. Amongst them I have some blinker issues. Right side lights up but it does not blink. Left side does not light up at all and obviously does not blink (ha!). Checked and all the bulbs are good. I had read in another thread...

Adjusted to 28mm. Left no longer leaking, Right still leaking. Lesson learned. Mikuni genuine parts only moving forward…

Thanks @jpdevol Upon closer inspection, both carbs are leaking gas. Float valves definitely not sealing. Stumbled upon this masterpiece of a write-up (@2manybikes): 2M's non-OEM Floats Investigation Resetting to 28-29mm. Stay tuned....

Got from Mikes… sure you’ve seen them. I’m going to take them apart and check out the floats. I have a feeling I have a leaky float that is not “floating”. Where do you go to get your genuine Mikuni stuff?

Popping noise coming out of Left carb (see video) after carb kit rebuild. Added K & N air filter pods (Left pod has gas in it (WTF). Right pod is dry. Right carb is not popping). I realize now that I probably need to upsize my idle jets and my main jets if I’m going to run pods. Haven’t done...

You nailed it. I'm not going to even try to guess why PO did this.... To correct, should be able to switch the wires back and then remove the advance weights from the tabs in the disc, rotate shaft and disc 180, insert advance weights back into the disc, good to go???
