    Breaks Down under heat

Thanks mates. The bike is quieter and runs well at cruise but i still have some inconsistency (mslight missing) on acceleration in all gears. Whats odd to me as well is that to put timing bang on for firing properly, the points plate is at the very extreme left position. Just works out that...

Thanks again mates. The bike is quieter and runs pretty good at cruise but I still have some sputter on acceleration - all gears.?? In the process of checking the archives but would appreciate any input.

Ok, on a hunch I pulled the timing plate and adjusted. Idles fine now. Impressive what valve lash will impact.

Well this is fun!! Quieter engine that pulls much better in all gears. However, haven't tested the long ride yet cause I can't get my idle down to a stable 1000+. Guess now its time to rebuild my Mikuni'e?

Intake Left 2000, right 0015. Exhaust left 4000, right 5000! Pretty clear I'm well out of range. Appreciate your advice once again and will check em eery year from now on. Hopefully it clears up my breaking down at high temp. Will let you know. Thanks mate.

Was just in the process of reply. The book actually says 4 n 2 - and that's what the left side is at. Will do the right side next. Looks like I need to loosen em off. Will let you know what the right side says.

Hey Gary, Book says 6000 for exhaust and 3000 for intake. Have heard as little as 4000 exhaust and 2000 intake. What’s your advice?

I do Gary. You’ve never steered this guy wrong. On it. Thanks again.

Wouldn't that be a problem on start up as well? My problem happens after bike is hot and riding for more than 1/2 hour.

Some time back my ‘75 650xs started breaking down after 40 - 50 minutes riding. The coils were originals so I replaced with Mikes. Seem to run well after that but I was never on long enough rides - until yesterday. Same problem. Where should I be looking next?

    Part Number??

Of course - duh. Bit of a brain gap there Twins. That also explains why I have two brand new ones bagged on standby. Really makes sense not to wait too long between rebuild steps. You lose thought process. Thanks. Don't know what I would do without you guys. Much appreciated.

    Part Number??

Had all of my seals bagged and tagged on tear down - But this one got away from me. Reconstructing original engine on my 75 and not sure I have the right seal for the forward gear shaft (right side) as shown in pics. I THINK? its a 93102-08206, looks good but not sure. Anyone got a part number...

    Wont Run Upright?!!

Fact is, I did see a split in the harness jacket at that spot. Will investigate further. Thx.
