A Question about aftermarket electronic ignitions

There is a brand named Newtronic, they have several alternatives. Also rephased. I bought a set for my XS500 a few years back, it's mounted but i havent drove much with it. Looks like quality.

Electrical problem in the middle of the season.

Even if the engine is running i have to turn the headlight on with the switch on the handlebar. It's ok for me. (if it dosent harm anything else?)

Yes, i got power to the coil and i got power on the red/white wire on the starterrelay only when ignition is turn on(that sorted the starterbutton issue). The headlight still have to be turned on/off with the switch on the handlebar. And the headlightfailure lamp is still on.

Electrical problem in the middle of the season.

So, i have some progress here. Spendt most of the weekend throwing away wires, conectors and other things that should not have been there at all. I also found the missing red/white to the killswitch, belive it or not, it was hooked to one of the wires for the taillight. I also...

Electrical problem in the middle of the season.

I'm diving into this after work. English are not my native language so i'm wondering about the meaning of "common" in the frase "common supply side" and "2 common brown wires".

Great, thanks for the reply. The SR is still there, when i disconect it the power disappear at the R/W at the solenoid. The colours on wires are a little different than your's. I got Red, Black, Yellow, R/W and Blue/Black. Ohh, and the fuses: Mr.Frankenwire has done some work there too. The...

    Master heater

Thank's for the reply. The sparkplug is replaced, maybe ten startups and fifteen hours runtime since new. And it looks ok. But i dont understad why it works when i switch the wire's? If it dont start i just have to turn the socket in the picture 180 degrees it works ok.

    Master heater

Over here the temperature is slowly sinking down to "not ride degrees", it's about 42 degrees Fahrenheit today and i think i did the last ride for the season yesterday @ 53 deg.F. It was a sunny day and i rode for about two hours mainly on the backroads, not fast but a lot of thight curves. So...

Great bike, and colour. Is that a XS750 tank?

    Spark plugs

I'm a little curious, is there any particular reason why you want to use any other brand?

What do you think XS650 are worth today?

Here in Norway prices on these bikes are totally out of control.(All the 50', 60' and 70' bikes for that matter) Today there are 3 (three) XS650's for sale on the largest marketplace for cars and motorcycles. This marketplace cover about 80 percent of the trade here. One bobber'ish at $ 5250...
