I tells ya when it rains it pours.

For the last couple months I have been reworking my shop, and tying up loose ends in preparation for my XS build this winter. I treated my self to a new tig, and today I went out and bought a new 60-gallon compressor. Well I had it strapped to the dolly, taking it down the ramp, and boom - fell and broke my wrist. :yikes::yikes::wtf:

going in for surgery tomorrow

this truly sucks because now it'll probably be February before I get anything done to it now. It also sucks to type with my left hand. Best that I can do for work now is wax-on wax-off ferchrissakes.

Hey Higgy---I hope you can find a left handed only snow shovel up there in NH, it won't be long before the snow flies. Seriously, I hope your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery. tim

You're typing better than some people when they use their phone with spell checker. Ide like to slap the punk that came up with l33t sp3ak.
and the guy that invented the snooze bar. every morning I just need 9 more minutes...as if that's ever been enuf. across the room don't help either.

Yeah, won't be long before snow flies. I have a tractor with a bucket and a brand-new mongo-sized Ariens blower that will scare the crap out of anyone. Thing is, they both need two hands. I luckily have two sons willing to help. I feel so bad now, because I'm just not the guy who asks for help.

cripes higgy what a nightmare :wtf:

Look on the bright side ......... nows your chance to learn to be ambidextrious:thumbsup::D

Hope your surgery goes well and wish you a speedy recovey. Sounds like you'll soon be finding ways to do things one handed :wink2:

Yeah man. one-handed sucks. Even simple things like getting out of the tub is an exercise in creativity.

I understand that for sure. Pretty self sufficient guy.

Speedy Recovery Higgy. Best wishes.

I'd be willing to bet you're the guy usually giving the help.

I may not speak for your kids, but myself being 23 yrs old I thoroughly enjoy helping my parents and grandparents whenever they ask, and dont.

Let them help, they know you're thankful. [emoji123]

Hoping and praying for a speedy recovery!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I just got back from the hospital, and now they want a cat scan before surgery. Now they've re-casted my arm and re-scheduled the surgery for next Thursday.

I got no idea what to do. I'm a pretty active guy, and my entire world flows from my hands. I can't tolerate being bored. Maybe I'll take up walking until the arm is better.

when I was laid up for 4 months with my back I couldn't walk so I decided to research my Family History and I'm still doing it 10 years later.
Real absorbing detective work ....it kept me sane when I couldn't even get out of the chair for months
Later I took up exercise walking with a camera . Made a daily photographic study of my village through the year . I'm a keen wildlife photographer now .

You'll think of something :wink2:

Hang in there, Higgy. Plenty of us 'walking wounded' to keep you company.

...now they want a cat scan before surgery...

Need to lookup this guy:
