hello
I had to dismount and paint my battery compartment and when I put it back I have a little black wire about 10cm long with round terminal with hols to be screwed.
Does anybody know where it goes ?
My bike is 1H1 1978 Europ model

Looks like a homemade battery to frame ground strap and if you have an electric starter it's way too small. The wire should be AWG 8 at least, AWG 6 would be better.

Thanks a lot for answering but
no it's not the negative ground wire
I fix it allready pict below

Is there a cable like this on sides of battery compartment ?
Is there a wire to ground the batery case ?

On the very early models, the turn signal flasher relay was mounted to the bottom of the battery box, requiring a separate ground connection from the battery to the battery box. I don't think this applies to the later models...

Hi emgire and welcome,
that mystery wire is the correct wire color and end configuration to be a Yamaha grounding wire, but what was it supposed to ground?
You say that it's fixed, but what did you use it to ground?

Yessss !
Sorry but english is not my birth language so it took time for me to understand what you mean...
As several other parts like swing arm or drive chain cover, the battery box may not be original box on my 1H1 and I have the turn flasher below battery. Then I realise that the silent block of that box isolate the all battery case from rest of the body. this cable must be grounding that case to the negative plot of the battery.
Thanks a lot I'll try it as soon as I can
Regards 2M
