Well, I have finally finished my XS2.. (I say that but are we ever finished). I've fitted indicators and mirrors since taking these pictures as riding in London whilst holding your arms out isn't fun. the last picture what it looked like when I got it.

WOW - that is one spectacular bike eight0 - very nicely done indeed.

Congratulations - you've got a lot of fans out here with that old gal in your stable!

Thanks all. I originally wanted to customise it but when I went through it, I found that apart from the missing indicators, xs650 badges and seat.. nothing had been changed. Even the seat pan was original and rust free. So I couldn't bring myself to do it and decided to do a resto instead.
Hardest bit was then having to find XS2 parts as a lot are very slightly different than the later models.
If anyone is stuck finding bits I have come across some good sources!
And yes, I know the Speedo isn't an xs2 speedo...

Nice...add grab rail and seat strap and it's done. Was this a US model..?.. From my understand'n the 72' Xs2... was the first model year import'd to the Uk..?... Did they come in a range and black ?

Yeah I think the UK model was orange and black. This was a US import so originally in Candy red and white like this.

Nice job.
I'd be interested in that seat you took off, if you're getting rid of it.
From reading your account, it was built onto the original pan, which you've re-used? In that case, I'm still interested in the foam and cover.
