Welder's penetrate deeper!!
Clean title. In my name.The good::: New clutch cable and fibers. Pulls ez. Starts easy no grinding. Kicks ez. New rings on stock size pistons. Wrist pins within tolerance. No bad scuffing on pistons. No weird noises. No leaks at head. Small leak at sump plate. New drive chain although it doesn't look it. It was a cheapo from mikesxs. Has the Canadian emulsion tubes and matching needles and pulls smooth thru rpm range. Numbers on engine match frame 3goxxxxx. New gaskets. Ap63 plugs. New brake shoes and pads, 11mm master cylinder, rebuilt caliper. Wheel bearings feel smooth. Lots of tread left. 1 year old battery
The bad, u be the judge. Most was done under the instructions of po. I was his mechanic.
Fuses replaced with circuit breakers. I have put ATC fuses in place of the breakers and they didn't pop. It was like that when po got it. Po wanted older single throttle with no kill switch so I had to fashion a kill switch on the neck gusset, but it's always left on, I just use the key. I also used the horn button for the starter. So....no horn.
Po wanted harley-esqe turn signals. Ick. The back frame loop has been cut and repositioned to match a cut down 71 rear fender. The seat is a cheap Chinese unit. Po wanted a spring bates style, but I talked him out of it, and went with the cafe' seat. Its lowered with mikesxs rear shocks. It bottoms out with 250lbs rider. I cut and rewelded a inch out of the side stand. I have the center stand that I took off, useless on a lowered bike. I have the old stock shocks that will cure this but...the shortened side stand ...ughI kept the shouldered bolts with it. It's not bent or missing the tang.
The side covers are rattlecanned, and crazed out. Those emblems are mikesxs, and one is not gold anymore, but is now shiny chrome. The rims could use a s.o.s. pad scrub
I do like this bike, but health issues are forcing sale, besides, I have 3 other bikes to tinker with.
I do not ship. Price is negotiable. It runs stops great. Looks great. Paint on tank isn't perfect but is rust free, new petcock, new filters. The po rescued it at a garage sale. She says her boys grades were slipping , so it had to go. Fresh ring job. Now, I'm no pro rebuilder, but I've turned the wick up on this bike quite a few times, and it doesn't smoke. I've adjusted the valves, used 15/40 rotella diesel oil. Has never given me grief. It charges as it should. Rotor ohms at 5.6. New brushes. 145 comp both sides. Stock air boxes.
