Hey Guys,
I'm kinda new here, but noticed there's no "App" for xs650.com.....
Would be kinda awesome if there was...
Is anything is development?
Cheers!

I'm not sure what value that would add, I use my regular browser when I access the forum on my S-10e

Hey Boog,
Yeah I get that it works fine in the browser.
I can also access Facebook and Instagram from my browser. It's not that is doesn't work, the experience is just better from within the app. This is one of my most frequented sites. I feel like it deserves an app :D.

Yes, an app would be nice. A couple of Xenforo developers were working on one, but it got dropped. I feel like that's been a theme for the last 5-8 years with app development for forums. They start them and things look promising, then development stops. Part of the problem may be that they need to develop two apps, one for Apple, and one for Google. Then each forum needs to pay the yearly fees with both companies to keep them on their app stores. You also have security updates, etc. I think most phones allow you to bookmark a page in Chrome and add it to your home screen. That's the best we can do for now.

I'm now getting bugged to install an app from my browser address bar.
Not only do I not want it, I can't get rid of the damned thing. My address bar space is limited and I keep crap out of it.

This is an older thread, and the app it is asking you to install is a bit different than what we were talking about, but let me see if I can help you out. What computer or device are you using and which browser? Can you post a screen shot of where it's asking? As far as I know, ever browser handles the prompt differently when it detects that a site is PWA compatible. It should not be intrusive. Perhaps if you are blocking cookies, or something else out of the ordinary, it may not be playing nicely. Progressive web apps (PWA) are becoming quite popular so I'm surprised you haven't run into this with many other websites.

The browser is Slimjet, a fork / clone of Chrome, updated just three days ago.
Actually, that's a clue I suppose. It was running quite happily with the older version and this damned thing appeared after the update.

No go. I tried disabling all extensions one-by-one, then all at once, and that thing is still there.
Now that I know what it is, I got some references to PWAs and all I could find was the same advice.
However, there's an experimental list of omnibox permissions I will try messing with.

Got it - another extension called PWA Block.

Do you have a screenshot of what the notice looks like and how intrusive it is? I'm curious. I might have to download it.
