Whats your weather right now?

Around here, if you don't like the weather, give it a few minutes....
11* this morning. Bright and sunny now, and the temperature is up to a whopping 24*. Supposed to go over 50* Wednesday. Could happen...

Last week, out and about on the Yamaha, also the Honda and Kawasaki. But just now, being kept at home by the Cooncil's assiduous road treatment. Trouble is, we get mild and sunny days but if there is a clear night then temperatures drop. And if there is even the risk of a frost, the powers that be send the salt lorries out. Which is why they were out on Saturday night. And despite Sunday being warm and dry they were out again last night to top up the salt that was still there from the previous night. Doh!

But mid-March and there is strength in the Sun even at these latitudes.

Well, after a couple of very nice sunny 10C+ (around 50 deg. F) days here it turned VERY cold and damp over the past 5-6 days - and that is just fine with me as I have been trapped in my basement dungeon working on a consulting report.

Today it is just about 0C (32 deg. F) and cloudy. YUK!

I do hope it brightens up later in the week and I can ride because this darned thing is due and so I'll be free for a bit.

By the way - Sunday March 14th was one month after February 14th - and thus, it was S&BJ Day.

I hope that everyone had a nice day and a chance to celebrate with a loved one.....:D

Monday night a little rain. Not enough to wash the roads completely clean but WTH. Tuesday afternoon clear and warm so grabbed a rucksack (we're only allowed out for essential shopping or work or medical appointments) and pulled Miss November out of the garage for a nice, gentle perambulation along local roads. 2-lane A roads, single track country lanes.

Loving it. That's the longest ride so far this year.

Even had a chance to try the new front brake. A698, just passing Teviot Water Gardens, didn't notice a 'road works' warning but I might have missed it, motoring along nicely at about 60, came over a slight rise and there's a temporary traffic light on my side of the road. Red, of course, and a lorry coming through the other way. And of course, while I'm taking all this in, I've already applied the brake. And most gratifyingly, the bike comes to a stop comfortably before the light. Feel I can recommend the EBC disc and pads now.

Maple Buds Getting Red
First calendar day of spring and it's 20C at
6 PM. Winter wheat is coming up green as well. Won't be long before some will be moaning about heat, humidity and paying for electricity to cool the place.
Actually here in SW Ontario and depending on your tolerances there is about a two month shoulder season spring and fall when no HVAC is really needed.

Temperature expected to reach 21 Celsius today so off on the bike I went. Home altitude 200' and I took my favorite route which peaks here at 1730'. It was so warm I had to stop to take off a layer:

While there, some local girls started to chat to me:

They had been dining out on some sort of maize based breakfast cereal followed by one or two-many cans of happy juice. Glenys on the far left was pissed as a fart and couldn't stay upright whereas Nerys and her twin blonde sister Myfanwy kept bleating as to how lonely they were. In the end I packed up and as I left told them I don't like girls that leave their cans lying everywhere.

Next I headed down to Treochy in the Rhondda Valley and out over the hills in the distant far left by the wind turbines:

Total trip 71 miles and my bike seat was starting to feel a bit thin for the last 5 miles. Guess I've been out of the saddle for too long. Tomorrow is also expected to be about 20 Celsius...

That was a nice ride and some great photos, I always love seeing other parts of the world!

Well, reports that Spring has sprung in the Scottish Borders are somewhat exaggerated.

Woke to this today:

Not what we should expect on 5th April? There's only a light dusting, maybe ½" of snow. At 7am, the northerly wind was bitterly cold, but it will warm up a lot once the April sun gets higher.

But unfortunately, the Cooncil trucks have once again been busy. So I'm very unlikely to take any bike out on the salt, I mean roads, until we've had some rain and there's none in the forecast.

Cardiff Wales: 3 Celsius and a clear blue sky. So I jumped on the bike and did a 45 mile trip on local country roads. I decided to come back via the motorway and have bit of a blast, but .... :cussing:.... got stuck in a rolling traffic stop behind police cars with their lights flashing. I managed to set a personal best, 5mph in 1st. The problem was caused by a minibus with a blow out. No ambulance present so all ended well for someone today. They probably had a lucky penny or seal spring in there gearbox.

22 C and Cloudy
Just finished cutting the grass for the first uime and the earliest ever for me. Prediction is for a few days of April showers so better to get it done today rather than mid week when it would have grown so much more and need to be bagged or raked.
Daffodils are nice, though. Forsythia blooming as well.
