Good tip! I've had good luck using vinyl pinstripe tape for setting paint lines. I haven't had any bleeding issues ever since using it...but I also remove it just after the paint kicks off, or is somewhat tacky, leaving a really nice clean line. The base layer has to be dry/cured or the vinyl tape will take the paint with it when you pull it off though... in case anyone tries this. :)

Yeah, this was vinyl striping tape... and yes, I've always had good luck with it too. I suspect that at some point I left it out of its bag and the edge picked up enough debris to stop it from laying flat. I don't know that for fact, but I went ahead and ordered new stuff just to hedge my bets.

I pull the tape just after spraying while the paint's still wet. It lays out better along the edge.... giving a crisper line.

Decided to tackle Moby Pete's tank today. Guess it's been a little longer than I thought since I worked on it. :(
Not to worry Pete, I hit it with a little Roundup Weed Killer. Couple of days and I'll be right back at it. :D
