Yeah, this was vinyl striping tape... and yes, I've always had good luck with it too. I suspect that at some point I left it out of its bag and the edge picked up enough debris to stop it from laying flat. I don't know that for fact, but I went ahead and ordered new stuff just to hedge my bets.Good tip! I've had good luck using vinyl pinstripe tape for setting paint lines. I haven't had any bleeding issues ever since using it...but I also remove it just after the paint kicks off, or is somewhat tacky, leaving a really nice clean line. The base layer has to be dry/cured or the vinyl tape will take the paint with it when you pull it off though... in case anyone tries this.
