Cam timing adjustment?

Difficult
Is the cam in 2 halves spit at the middle ?
Stock ??
I have not seen that if i remember right on 2 or 3 cams for 1980
in # 3 there is a picture separated and one can see half moon shaped holes
Are those for locating ..and it is not in right place at the picture
And the Allen bolts holds it together ??

What prevents the now adjusted sprocket to rotate on the axle
Shrink fit ?
And are the Allen bolts locked in some way ?
The cam has been rephased, the "half moons" are part of how the cam halves are locked together in their new orientation. There are 2 sets of 3 holes, if I remember correctly the 2 sets of holes are offset by 41 degrees then the pins located them and the Allen bolts and a bit of lock-tite hold it, along with the press fit of the sprocket.

I just found this little gem that explains why my cam timing has been such a PITA! I'm sure I read this some time around 2011 but it must not have clicked at the time.

Thank you again
I suppose I should have googled it
Amazing stuff .. Requiring a lot of Knowledge and Machinery and Clear head .. Steady hands.
Nothing for me I would not have a running bike if I tried this.
Lots of things to think about never heard of Putting a Cam in the Band saw ..and getting it to work after that.
Need to read and think on this. Perhaps cam is not highly stressed but is of rather thick material
And heat treated .. drilling holes and such would not be " First Choice "
But perhaps Possible.

Put it here if someone else are interested

Mr Riggs here on the forum used to do this, and I haven't heard of any failures. I believe he did them in a stock grind, and also in a Shell #1 grind, which is a bit hotter.
