My 1981 Tracker is almost finished. What does everyone think?

Yes, just a tracker seat does not a tracker make, lol. In my eyes, you don't want a 16" rear wheel or a front fender, at least not a full one.

Thanks everyone. Still have a number of items, the biggest is getting the fuse box and installed. I also have to wire and install the taillight. Then the test ride. I did crank it up before I torn the fuses out. It sounded great.

Really like that silver frame.

I’m with 5twins - it doesn’t fit my tracker definition BUT i also don’t think anything but a British bike can be a “cafe racer”.

these opinions don’t take anything away from your bike - looks killer!!

be nice to hear it fire up!

I did have to cut the frame. Long time ago I took a DT1 250cc street bike and make a flat tracker out of it. Of course I did race it many times until I bought a Champion frame. I will try to add a 19” on the rear but looks like a pain to get everything. I do have a 750 kit. Maybe next winter for more mods. Does anyone here have a turn key 19” rear? I have not seen one.

Closest to "turn key" would be Omar's adapter kit for a (cast) 19" XS front wheel. Or maybe better, use a 19" front wheel from a larger bike, XS1100 or Kawasaki KZ1000J. The adapters may or may not work for the XS wheel, custom adapters would most likely be required for the KZ wheel. Kawasaki cast wheels are the most similar alternative to Yamaha wheels IMHO.
Otherwise, you'd have to build a 19" spoke rear wheel on an XS drum rear hub, or some other disc brake rear hub. I had an 18" rear wheel built on a Talon MX hub (KX 500 I think)
Or if you want to be completely silly, I believe BST make 19" carbon fiber flat track wheels, exclusively sold through some US flat track supplier.

The Omars wheel kit fits the 19" cast wheel for those wanting to do 19's front and rear. You'll have to add a disc, caliper hanger though. Others have done it and I'm sure you can find pics here somewhere. Looking good so far, I'm envious because I have so far to go with mine.

Great job on the tracker build. If the bike is as fast as was the build well........:yikes: The only changes I would make is lose the front fender and lower the forks to eliminate that "Going Uphill" look.
P.S. Great contrast between the frame and seat/tank. Bike would really be Killer with 18" rear-19" front wire spokes.
