It’s back off to Rick @ Smedspeed tomorrow so let’s hope third time really is the charm.

Daniel.

Would be good to verify size of master cylinder needed so I can begin the hunt. Was going to match my brake master cyl with a Brembo so need to be sure I get it right the first time. Lol.

I’m using the clutch perch from a YZF-750 that has a 14mm piston.
Thx. I’ll have to see if the Brembo master cylinder is available in that size. Feels like you’re getting close to the finish line on this project!

Edit: Brembo’s smallest radial master cylinder seems to be a 14mm so that should be easy to obtain.

I think 14mm is a fairly common size, I’d be interested to hear how deviations in master cylinder piston size effect clutch pull feel.

I really bloody hope so mate, I’ve enjoyed this project immensely but I’m at the point now where I want to be able to call it a success and move onto the next thing!

Hello all,

Sorry for the radio silence, no news isn’t necessarily bad news but truth be told I’ve had another set back. MK 3 leaked whilst bleeding up!

Good news is I believe I’ve already discovered the route cause of this but that said, and I don’t mean to sound melodramatic, but every little hiccup leaves me a little... disenchanted shall we say and I’ve found I need to take a day or two to regroup. I’ve invested so much of myself into this project that each little setback is like a kick in the balls.

So that being said I plan on meeting with Des next week to talk about our next move.

Please have faith everybody, I’ve come too far, spent too much money & time to quit and it’s just not in my nature.

I appreciate everyone’s patience but we will get there!

Daniel.

Thanks for the update Daniel, I’m sure once all the bugs are worked out it will be a great accomplishment. Excited to see the finished product but no rush or pressure from my end.

Cheers @bosco659

I didn’t expect it to be quite this complicated, but then there must be a reason no one else is currently offering anything like these.

When it’s all done it will be as truly refined as it can be and I’ll be only to happy to reward the patience of all who have showed support from the outset.

I can’t wait for people to get their hands on these and hear glowing reviews, it’ll all be worth it then and I can move onto the next project with renewed confidence.

Daniel.

Thank you Bewarethemoon I have been waiting on at least some notes. Have you had a chance to maybe take apart an existing slave to see if there are any ideas you can gather? I have a Ducati slave knock-off i can dissasemble and post? I have used it before and it held well for the year i used it?

Sorry again I’ve been quiet on this front @ShaggyMech, I just needed to chill on it for a while.

I had/have a spare R6 brake calliper (that’s what we copied the bore design from) and I dissected it last Sunday, I wanted a cross section of the bore to study properly and that’s where I made a little discovery.

Daniel.

I know about bugs been trying to get my SR500 Scrambler project done but it has been one thing after other. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

Just found these in my parts stash. “Chinese” Brembo brake and clutch master cylinders. The clutch is 18mm so probably way too large but wonder if there’s a way to make it work? Would save me a lot of $.
