Is it my turn? Anything to do with lathes, mills and other shop tools

@Jim , did you ever get the posts for this carburetor made?

The jackshaft on my antique atlas has always been a pain in the ass. It had the original needle bearings with a grease zerk on each carrier. Even a light half a squirt from the grease gun was enough to sling 'bout a half a grease guns worth of grease all over the garage and me. It's ruined more shirts than I care to think of. I've tried everything to stop the slinging... o-rings, felts... nothing worked. - - -

Hi Jim,
nice fix.
Back when I was in tech school they made us wear aprons in the shop.
That was a more than a half-century ago so they didn't make us wear safety glasses.

I still wear a leather apron when I'm making chips

I think maybe your $$$$ landing gear bushings rejected the cheap bearings like a failed organ transplant. Need to call up Boeing and get some bearings. :D
Yeah... a $20,000 jackshaft drivin' a hundred dollar lathe.... :cautious:

Hi Jim,
regardless of it's source, if you use a ball to do a roller's job it takes at least four of them.
