Ozarks Rally Spring 2021

I've got to mention this. I still laugh thinking about it. First morning out. We stopped for gas. While Gary was inside the station a guy walked by and looked the bikes over. Then said to me "You guys killed the retro look". I started laughing and had to explain that these are the real deal. He was sure they were newer bikes made to look old.
Everywhere we stopped people would come up and want to talk about the bikes. A lot of people said they had a 650 or new people that did. One of the bonuses of riding history.
Some random pics of the ride and the Ozarks.
Waiting out a storm.

Ready to go. Bike was nice and clean then. Now it's a filthy pig. Going to take a week to get it clean.

Looks like you’re getting your ergo’s figured out now.
When following gggGary no ergos involved. Hang on tight and try to keep up.
Seriously the AirHawk is tits. When you get the air right it's a game changer. I like the wind screen. Takes the wind buffeting off my chest. Gary mentioned to me guys have said they have back trouble because of wind screens taking air off their chests. I didn't notice that. I like having less pressure and buffeting against my chest. I still get wind against my helmet but it doesn't bother me. I'm not sure but it may be large enough to still have buffeting in cross winds. We ran into some bad weather and I got knocked around from time to time. Gary seemed to me watching him had less trouble in the wind.

Had a great trip with Greg would ride with him anytime.
Yeah It was kind of odd but I never noticed an issue with side winds the whole trip.
PS we got consistant 50 MPG, travel speed, highway vs trying to keep up to Chaves in hills and twisties, made little difference. Even running a GPS 65MPH on the freeway on regular gas, still 50MPG. Rain and strong headwinds had one tank down into the high 40's.

I'd follow you through Hell. Maybe not Hell. Possibly a thunder storm. Then again maybe not. Definitely a construction zone if you kept the speed down. For sure any paved road that doesn't have water on it. If it's a warm day.
