Help! A motorcycle followed me home. Why does this keep happening?!?

I would love to have more sheds... I don't even have a shed where I'm renting. A single car garage is enough for my mower, weed whacker, three bikes, a bike jack, work bench, and shelving. It's pretty cramped for my liking, but then again, I like being able to walk around each motorcycle individually, and still have room for tools.

My ideal set up would be a 2 or 3 bay garage with three or four motorcycle lifts in the left bay, a nice showroom/lounge in the right bay, and in the middle bay? Perhaps that's where I'd keep my lawn mower, and other adulty things... My plan is subject to change... But what a set up that would be...

that would be the way to go but its amazing how quick you run out of room .. me .. i have a shed addiction 1 double 6x6 garage 1 20 ft container 2 car ports and a small container .. all full and im still looking for rom for the next bike

You ever run across a smokin' gggGary deal on a 400F..... call me. :geek:
I would have a smoking deal on a 400/4 F1.
Can’t bear to part with it after 45yrs.

I've got a 400/4 in boxes, friend gave it to me and then I moved half way across the country. Sooner or later I'll get to it. Right now the norton featherbed and t120 motor have my attention, the cr/xr conversion is done, the tiger needs an oil change soon, 1 xs needs some polishing and clean up, the other needs wiring, the pitbike is fine, the xl75 needs a rebuild, and I have an xs1& xr100 motor sitting around. I need to quit finding more bikes.

Years ago, the number of bikes in the garage gradually built up to a maximum of seven. Noticed that things needing to be done rose exponentially with the number of bikes. This one needs tax, this one needs MoT inspection, this one needs tyres, etcetera, etcetera. By the time it got to seven, not all were insured, some were sitting waiting for completion, one was in boxes and never got built up by yours truly - flogged it to a mate who made a nice job of it, Matchless G80 500 single.

So taking account of that exponential rule, decided that the ideal number of bikes in the garage is two. I know a purist would say the maths tells you its one, but well, you gotta have some leeway.

Still working on getting there. Anybody want a Honda NX250 Dominator?

I went from 7 to 0, and have worked back up. I think I'll eventually get down to 1 modern bike, 1 or 2 customs, and a dirt bike. The cr/xr conversion doesn't take much maintenance, and too many projects is a money pit and slows any of them getting finished to a crawl.

I'm going to safely assume that you were able to pull the trigger on your prospective CB750A purchase... Lol

That looks like it was in pretty decent shape, was it super cruddy before you cleaned it out?

The pan and filter have to come off to pull the engine out of the frame so they were off the motor, bout what you would expect no big chunks in pan or filter.

So Gary, was that Wixom fairing I saw in that pile of parts? They were the cats ass back in the day
Don't be doing that to me! Fairing and (Shoie?) bags went on FB market for $20 all in, took nearly two weeks to get em gone. They were rough, specially the fairing.
Oil and a battery in, got some lights but no starter or spark yet. Shorting the starter spun the motor nicely. The A has an "emergency kick lever" stored under the seat, I've been kicking with that. More breathless updates to foller. Haven't even opened the points cover yet.

How do I get these things to leave me alone? Is there any kind of repellent you guys use? No matter how hard I try to clean my garage, and scrub my house, they're still attracted to my small workspace!!!
I guess this guy looks pretty malnourished and sad, I suppose I can make room for just ONE MORE.
Welcome my newest project everyone! A 1985 Honda Nighthawk 750. Only $100 with a title!

Hi G_Y,
why do those orphans keep following you home? It's your magnetic personality that's doing it.
Taking grumpy pills will de-gauss you so the lost bikes will stay away but so will your friends and neighbors.

I think I’ve said this before but I get phosphoric acid from my local home brew shop, they have big barrels of it, as it’s also a good no rinse sanitiser for beer bottles etc when diluted to about .5%, I get 200ml for less than a spray bottle of the diluted stuff they sell at the spare parts shop, just dilute it myself to about 10% as I need it, apply with a paint brush or a spray bottle, you can also use it to remove rust by submerging parts in it or spaying and wiping with a cloth, just don’t get it on your concrete floor.
