Happy Saturday, and just a quick one-

Broke my OEM rear brake switch ('77 xs650D) today. sleeve cracked, attempting superglue fix, but does anyone have a good recommendation on a replacement?
Found a thread from 2014 saying Mike's switch has shorting issues,

is that still the case, and if so, where can you get a better one? Should I just ebay an OEM part?

Yes, you have to be careful with that switch. The body and threaded section is just plastic so if you tighten the mounting nuts just a little too much, it breaks. I'm thinking the MikesXS one would be fine, it's probably not much different than an original (all plastic). But, if you can find an original for cheaper, I'd do that.

Amazon has Emgo brand switches with a quite bit higher price , with at least one report of the same shorting issue. Some claim the Emgo is an NC type but I'm skeptical about that. But yes they are all plastic and will not take enthusiastic tightening.
