There's nothing lousy about an XS650 seat. Whether it's a Special or Special II, which are different things...
Nah... just havin' a little fun.
lol posted the proof .....7 hours ago, must be getting near the end of that bottle lol..........a Special and Special II are both designated Specials...........just as www1 and ww2 are both wars but not the same war.........a special and Special II are both specials, just not the same Specials........Because .........wait for it..........the seats are different............

Only Special is designated Special. Special II is designated Special II. Granted the names are similar, but different enough that it shouldn't confuse anybody.
I suggest you go to bed and sleep it off........tomorrow is another day .............funny thing about tomorrow though is that some things will stay the same and others will be different...............A special, be it a special or special 2 will still be a special.............. in the morning you will be sober

What ever you want to call it the Special II was a PARTS BIN Special. AKA a loss leader, Yamaha was assembling cheapest or surplus parts into bikes that could be sold for bottom dollar. You know like a "Saturday night Special". 
That many now regard a Special II as more desirable than a Special is kinda funny.

Funny thing is i posted the information and re-referenced the post # to that information................Yamaha brochures that state............
But what would they know.......they only make the bike, market the bike, call it a ............ when it isn't a ............ according to one person.

... based in Thailand.... if they don't have the cover.. send them the old one.....they use it to pattern a new one.. and give you a free cover. I did that with my 450 Honda police solo seat.. they used the old cover..it was ruff.... made a great replacement.. and sent it back for FREE... I purchased one..just because.... I did this a few years back and I can't say they're still do'n the freebie .. but touch base with them.
