Older models used just one long pushrod. The short outer rod on yours is more prone to wobbling around, causing more and quicker wear to the seal and bushing. Most of us revert back to using the old style long one piece rod.
It would be an interesting poll -- did you change to a two-piece push rod. The three might be more prone to wobble, The two might be more prone to rotate. What it really does probably depends mostly on harmonics. My seal and bushing from Mike's are doing good after probably 50,000 miles with a 3-piece
