Filled up my 4Runner today and a 4 gallon gas can.šŸ˜±šŸ˜©

Thatā€™s about $1.40 Cdn / L. You guys still have much cheaper fuel, about 25% less. It was $1.87 here tonight. ā˜¹ļø Crazy too is diesel was $2.47/L last week. Used to be cheaper than gasoline.

My local is down to $1.79.7/L for standard unleaded. Got a s low as $172.9 before it started to rise again.

We had got to $2.20/L at the local servo.............

That's a .40c/L drop from the high and looks great on the surface but the Australian Govt cut the fuel tax in half for 6 months to relieve the pressure. That tax relief amounts to 22.1c/L

$10.03/gal yesterday (Cdn$ &imp gal). šŸ˜©
Ouch. Running WI to Arkansas and back I saw one tank at 3.79/gal. The other fills were as high as 4.19/gal.

I was going to complain about paying $5.00 per gallon the other day, the most Iā€˜ve ever paid in my life! It cost me $45 to fill up my little Fiat peanut sized car, but then I saw what you folks in Canada are paying! :yikes:

What if "they" are purposely pricing petrol out of existence, making everybody run out to buy electric cars, because they are "so much cheaper to operate"? Energy can neither be created, nor destroyed, only change form. What's the difference between burning petrol in an IC engine, or burning petrol (fossil) in a co-gen facility to make the electricity to charge an electric car? Somebody, somewhere, is making boatloads of money off this artificially created crisis. :twocents:

Big difference. Gas powered electrical generation typically runs above 50% efficiency... some up into the 60+% range. Add to that the "free" (I know... not really) energy put on the grid from wind, solar, nuke and hydro and the efficiency ain't that bad... relatively speaking.
Your typical internal combustion engine however.... is stuck in the 30's
If you think about it, what else would you settle for 35% efficiency on? Not much I suspect...

Electric cars are over 90% efficient at using the energy they get from the grid, which itself is over 60% efficient at giving it to us. That's a whole 'nother magnitude of better.

As to conspiracies... my general thought is that in order for 3 people to keep a secret, two of 'em have to be dead. :sneaky:

Hi Tebo,
like Robert Heinlein said TANSTAAFL (there ain't no such thing as a free lunch)
ANYTHING you burn sucks the oxygen out of 5 times it's own weight of air and most of the lakes used to generate hydro-electricity have farms and villages drowned in them. Nuclear is the only practical way I know of to generate electricity without doing those things.

In the Prius (all it's energy comes from gasoline) pulling the XS on the trailer I was pretty close to 40MPG round trip WI AR WI, not far off of what the XS gets on it's own. :umm:
Full disclosure generally kept it at or below 60MPH. Speed kills..... fuel efficiency. 'specially with that "dirty" bike in an open trailer.

@ $4.25 a Gal. of 89 octane at a BP station locally it cost me $63.75 for 15 gals of gas...I drive 60 mph max. almost everywher except on the highway..I get maybe 250 miles per tank range..not great but could be alot worse...Luckily I live in the country so not usually at the mercy of a city's traffic grid..and i keep my driving to essential errands and such...
