The "plan" (every tall tale has to start somewhere) is a solid running, decent looking rider.
Go through all the usual suspects, brakes, carbs, harness...and so on. Fix what needs fixin', replace consumables, clean 'er up good and TRY to keep ca$h outlay and mission creep to a minimum....hard to type that with a straight face....lol.
Titled as an '80, mfg date 7/79, 2FO-205xxx
Starts, runs, goes up and down the street, shifts and stops...somewhat.
Just tryin' to keep another somewhat unmolested bike in service

still 2FOs are 79s a LOT of changes 79-80....
But yeah, chart sez 4M4 81 OK I give.
Easy project, no bux spent.......... ;^)

2FO's were made in 78, 79 and 80 model years.
2FO vin, rectangular reflectors, alloy grab bar, 55 speedo, no wire out the left cam cover, no oil sight gauge.... cross stitching and low hump on the seat... all point to an '80 SG

Bit of preliminary investigation...
Cam chain adjusted, waaay loose...probably explains the excessive noise the other day
Valves adjusted, left int, hair tight, other three lil on the loose side
Cold compression 150 +/- 1, repeatable both sides

Looks like the lump stays in place and intact....WHEW!

Gathering a few essentials just in case I happen across some of that ever elusive "spare time"...

Gotta say though, placed an order with TC Bros yesterday (5/31) at 5:00 am before work, parts were on the porch today (6/1) by about 1:30 pm. Can't beat customer service like that
