What's Out of Stock at Your Store Today

Our store recently ran out of cooking oil. They had made an announcement that due to potential shortages they were limiting customers to three bottles.

What I don't understand is a) why make the announcement as whenever this is done the moronic sheep will immediately clear the shelves regardless of need and b) THREE bottles? Why would anyone need to buy three bottles when one lasts for ages?

When COVID was just ramping up, I told the wife, "maybe we should start slowly, quietly, start stocking up on some things, in case there's shortages as a result...". She looked at me like I had three heads. How about now? It's hard to tell what's out of stock at the local WallyWorld, since they stock the shelves at weird times. If there's something missing, I'll ask, and they usually have it "out back"...

A couple weeks ago I couldn't find canned beans for chilli. Half of a 1lb bag of dry beans worked just fine. Wife's favorite pancake mix was awol last week.
If one took a one pound bag of dried beans and planted them, how many pounds could be harvested? Better yet, the 7 bean mix.......
I get to looking for potential new ground for planting on these slopes.

Yeah, I gave me dottirs a heads up too. Knowing me and my ways they were game on.......funny, they don't want to live like me but if the shtf they say this is the Alamo.

Plant cows. They can graze on slopes or anywhere something they can eat will grow.

my local supermarket has a sign up saying lettice unavalible .... so not even for 12 bucks ... in fact not much in the way of any vegies there .. guess will have to go back to meat and potatoes (bummer)
Wafflebakers frozen pancakes, canned cat food, Goya ham seasoning and from time to time milk and bread.

Things are randomly missing at our stores, it’s usually not something I’m looking for but it’s just strange at the randomness. Two months ago it was distilled water lately it’s ice cream or certain frozen items.

Nothing quite like a catfood sandwich.
Reminded me of a MEME I saw the other day. Someone said they were having a problem with a person at work stealing their lunches so they used "tuna cat food" to make up some "fish tacos" wonder if that worked! Might be why there is a cat food shortage?

My local purveyor of ubiquitous comestibles was conspicuously depleted of a number or items.

They were completely out of "give a f**cks" so consequently I have no F**ks left to give.
Likewise the "S**ts to give" . These two despite their similarity seem to run hand in hand.
The spot on the isle for "Care Less" seems to have been renamed "careless" and someone forgot to tell customer service where it was moved to.
I don't recall the last time i saw a "round tuit" . These may have completely left the market in favor of the much more trendy "square tuit" which to me makes far less sense. In any case I probably won't be getting a round tuit anytime soon.
need I belabor the continuing lack of common sense? It's become so rare as to make one view it as uncommon sense and therefore more a curiosity than a common place commodity.
Of course "please" , "thank you" , and "you're welcome" are all in short supply so don't bother looking for common courtesy in other than a rare goods shop.

In parting , may you all have better luck finding the above than I have.

G'day
