Anyone know of a cheap and quick way to remove the stuff at home ?
I know that I could take the stuff to a professional paint strippers but I could do without the trouble of transporting it and waiting for it.

Paint stripper. It worked great removed the original clear coat from my side cases and tappet covers so they can be polished. Just got it from Home depot. Most hardware stores should have it.

From what?
Long ago I got a rear wheel with a powder coated hub, they didn't mask off the sprocket flanges. :banghead:
It was brutal getting that crap off. I ended up making a cutter out of an old sprocket.

Actually it's from a motorcycle frame.
A 654cc vertical twin with a 75mm x 74mm bore and stroke, but it's not a Yamaha.
Most viable suggestion so far (from another forum) is burning it to ash with a large propane torch.
Obviously no use on something like your wheel, but should be OK on a mild steel frame.
Probably not much good for the planet either

FWIW I think the paint stripper on sale in the USA might be different from UK - I think over there, it still works, in the UK you need to add some caustic chemical - b*ggered if I remember what - to make it effective. No experience of removing powder coat from a frame.

I think the disqualifying words here are “cheap” and “quick”. I’ve not seen a finish that the right sandpaper wouldn’t take care of.

I believe so too.
You can't buy the "aircraft stripper" available to the general public in the US over here.
Use of certain chemicals in it are restricted to licenced operatives over here.
Even if you find the right stuff on eBay USA or whatever, the sale gets blocked

Ya that was the 1st time I used it. I was surprised how well it worked, saved hours of sanding and polishing. Could very well be different in different areas.
