I am going to remove the engine in November then drop it of to Ric of Smedspeed to sort the irritating whining noise out. I will talk to Ric face to face and ask about a 750cc upgrade and go from there.

Then onto my next project a standard mid to late 70s standard bike, to OEM as far as possible I love the silver.

I too am thinking of the same for The Welsh Flat Tracker. I will follow your process with interest.

I'l be interested in what Ric can do with the engine. It sometimes seems that Smedspeed can be hard to get hold of - some people have tried to follow up on the sump filter conversion but not heard anything back?

46, why not nip over the pond today and I will treat you to seaside Fish & Chips, if you help me lift the engine out of the boot of the car, just dont bring the whole clan :bike::D:D:D
Hmmmm.......If you'll help me find long lost relatives of my family who left in the 1600's for the colonies. My DNA test shows me to be about 80% British Isles.

46 surname may help, maybe fleeing the English civil war or the plague
:hijack:
DeVol clan (then Davol) left Lincolnshire circa 1650's arrived Rhode Island - shipwrights - following the Revolution settled in Northwest Territory (Ohio) 1787 - (shipwrights there too) :)
