First Tracker Make Over

I ordered the tire, tube and rim liner on Wed Oct 26th from California. It was on my front porch at 8:45 this morning. I gave the local Harley shop their $55 to get the tire mounted and balanced. They did it while I waited. Not a scratch.:yikes::thumbsup: The wheel and brake rotor and carrier are from Cheney Engineering. I didn`t have to remanufacture anything. I just polished the disc carrier and knock off nut and mounted them on the bike. Less than .001 run out on the disc. Plenty good enough for who it`s for.

The Ninja 300 front caliper came yesterday so today I made a templet for a bracket to mount to the XS650 lowers. Piece of cake. Fits like a glove but looks kinda plain. Might need some holes?

I got a new seat pan cut and bent to fit the Knight tail section. Tomorrow (weather permitting I`ll install some threaded bungs for mounting and it`ll be ready to blast off to Wes at CounterBalance.

The tail section is a wide Knight style from Gopher Glass. The price was $100 when I got this one a few years ago. DK (Dave Keil) racing sells a Leatherman version of this seat in black gelcoat for $120.

I got the seat back from Wes at Counterbalance today. WOW:yikes::yikes:. The total turn around time from when I shipped it to him until today was 12 days, 9 of which was shipping to Road Island from Topeka and back. The seat was done in 2 days. It`s too nice to sit on. All that`s left is retorque the head and install the Shorai lithium battery and I`m done. Well done until I think of something else.

When are you gonna take it for a test ride?

Lovely job on the seat @halfmile
Really gives a great finish to the bike.

I`m calling it done. Well for the winter anyway. I still have to find some decent rear shocks but I`ve got all winter for that. I need to go to the DMV and change the antique tag over to a regular yearly registered vehicle ($60), a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of the make over.:yikes: I guess that wraps it up for the year. Since xssalt posted that salt flat racer on Wed my thought process has gone from "want" to "NEED". Funny how that works.
