Stuff my dog says; on second thought I'll just build a race car

Not the most exciting afternoon. I welded the cut I had made in the hood up and was somewhat pleased with the result there then went to work welding seams in the interior which is not exciting. I was going to just MIG them but the MIG is acting up so it was a frustrating afternoon at that.` I've got a couple gaps to fill and then maybe I can get back to skin work which is far more enjoyable. My hood strap footers are supposedly going to be delivered Monday but I find that hard to believe.
You gotta be smiling brighter than the sunshine there... So cool.

Nothing has gotten done due to holidays and family times. Have a new picture to share of something though

Before anyone asks, yes it's a kit. Thought it made for a unique opportunity though

I`ve been following this thread from the start. What sort of nose piece and protector do you plan to use?

Final fit on those is a royal pain if you are trying to achieve show quality. Good luck, we're all counting on you!

The idea I've been working under is the vaguely 33 Ford nose I drew way back (I can use that term now right after nearly two years?) More recently I've thought about going for more of a Kaiser or Willys influenced piece. The Ford idea there are drawings of in the thread here, the other is still just a flight of fancy at the moment.

Hour and a half tonight for this little corner transition piece. One of the guys came over and asked it I was working on the car or just looking at it. I said a little of both because I need this corner piece and am not real sure how I'm going to do it.

Also ordered filler neck parts yesterday.

Sometimes just sitting, staring and mentally visualizing is the most productive shop time.
Most of my time in the garage is spent searching for a tool I think I have, or wondering which particular safe place I put the part I hope to fit today, or mostly looking around for the tool I was using not two minutes ago. Or me specs . . .

If I ever find myself spending too much time wondering why I'm in the garage at all, it will be time to stop.

Actually, one does spend time looking and thinking, which is both productive and rewarding.

"Cobra" kits: thousands. NashGTs: 1. Which one is more the head-turner? On track day, I'd be, like, "...oh, Cobras." Then see Nash's car and "WHOA! That's REALLY cool!"
Story time: A guy came in to the shop about a month ago and asked what my favorite brand of kit car was and I answered the one I designed myself. So we went over to it and he never mentioned anything about the Cobra kits again while he was there.
