Whats your weather right now?

Power still out here. Just got internet back, they must have set up some generators at the phone switch buildings. I'm on DSL, once the batteries at the switches go flat, I'm dead in the water.

Sure hope they get it on soon, not at all sure I have enough fuel to run the generator all night again.

It was 7 degrees this morning when I woke up with a feel of -6. It downpoured all yesterday. Started my car this morning, put it in reverse and had to actually rev it out to get my tires unstuck from the concrete. Good Times! The stove is cranking today.

Weather might be bad, but I bet your job is easier than this guy's.

So far not even a flicker on the power. Mebby last weekend got all the weak sister branches out of the trees 'round here.
Was looking at generators at Farm and Fleet Wednesday, a guy lives nearby was having the same internal debate I was about the odds of another outage. Neighbor that shares our well DOES have a generator that should run the well if needed. Odd he didn't mention it during the LAST outage. :cautious:
When I see guys like that, I see real heroes. Not the overpaid man/children who get paid to play a child's game.

The scent of "Od de La Gasoline" was more than usual. I thought it was a seam at the back of the standard tank had become unsealed. After a second look, I looked at the petcock closer. Took it apart and flipped the rubber block. Put the flat level of the lever part on a whetstone and smooth it. Put a file to any rough edge and smooth it. Put it all together and a new section of fuel hose on the outlet blew in it. Seemed to not leak. I'll put it back on The SG and see how it goes.

Xmas day here, about 30c. 6c is about as cold as it ever gets here, but that's early morning when we are under the doona. During the day it may get down to 10. I hate it when it gets under 18/20, can't handle the cold.

Checked this morning, still over 40%. I'll have to do the math but it sure seems to get good "mileage".

EDIT: Based on the capacity of my tank (96 gallons @ 80% full) and my best guess as to how much I started with, I estimate that it burned somewhere between .8 and 1 gallon per hour. That's with the furnace, well, water heater, fridge, big freezer and various lights as well as occasional use of the microwave and toaster and the heat for the chicken's water.

I'm pretty pleased with that!
