USB Endoscope, anyone try one?

I have one of these I got from Amazon a couple of years ago. I think it was about the same price and looks about the same.
I found it to be marginally useful mostly because the depth of field was so shallow it had to be really close to anything to be in focus. Other than that it works fine. There's probably a model with adjustable focus/depth of field for a few bucks more.
 
I got one off eBay for an about 20 bucks. Works far better than I’d thought it would.

Used it many times to scope out the inside of a bore, most recently to see how my lambretta was looking inside.


For 20-30 bucks, not sure you could ask for more.

Even has a magnet attachment that I have used in conjunction with the video - had to fish out a nut that fell in the aforementioned lambretta barrel after building it. Life saver!
 
I also bought one of that type perhaps 5 years ago
on e -bay in England
Used it for inspecting gearbox wheels
Connected to a laptop computer
Got fine clear pictures
I don't remember the price but don't think it was over $ 20
The first one i got delivered the lamp / light in the camera did not work
Got a replacement
Above expectations I must say. I got the information and it was not expensive In my mind.
 
Doctor used to use one to stick in my nose and proceed down my throat. I think his cost a few bucks more. Great to know they can be had so easily. The best tools are the ones that you buy when you really need one.

Just thinking out loud here If I recall right the one I have needed an old Computer and Operating system was it Windows 7 or even XP
Using newer ones needed tweaks I did not bother to try. I Just used an older computer.
And I got mine from e -bay
 
After a couple of Android based units, Went big and bought a dedicated unit with it's own screen.
Not sure it was worth the extra money, but it works pretty darn good, and has two cameras, one on the end, and one looks to the side.
