I have been using them with a megacycle cam with .415 and .400 lift since 2008. Only problem I ever had was snapping one off using the yamaha 20 ft lb torque spec, now using 13 vw spec.
Considering that the elephant adjusters are quite heavy i would be hesitant to use em with radical (acceleration on the valve lift Diagramm 2nd derivate) short duration high lift profiles
Imho it would be more worthwhile to investigate if some speedway bike or Triumph race adjusters fit with bigger thrust area. Or in case to see if the KEDO Ducati style swivel adjusters fit.
Kind regards
Christian
Just curious, what are you going to do to get clearance to the valve seals?More, mine has .440”.
Daniel.
But, not
Just curious, what are you going to do to get clearance to the valve seals?
With the Porsche adjusters by the time you cone out the rockers and cut off the excess length I don't thing there is much increase I weight.. probably a little but not much. That’s great information Christian!
I’m trying to reduce weigh not add it so that is a point worth noting too.
I have also been considering the Kedo adjustments screws that fit our engines as well as SR’s & XT’s.
The Porsche screws didn’t actually cost me anything so nothings lost at this point.
Daniel.
Short seals on mine resulted in no clearance.I’ll order the shortened set from Gary Hoos.

Eventually yes after destroying valve seals at high revs. This cam was supposed to be OK with stock guides but it was not the case. Eventually I cut down the guides and the retainers (just a bit on the retainers) to get some clearance. I think it's OK with the cut down guides but the down side is the seals no longer lock into place.
Yes. I think 0.030 on the intakes and 0.010 on exhausts. Not sure if I like how the valve seals sit on them now, going to look at this some more. Also took 0.010 or 0.020 off the retainers so now the keepers are about even with them on the bottom. The keepers were recessed before I did this.I’m using valves & Beehive springs from Smedspeed, be interesting to see how these compare?
Did you shorten your guides whilst in the head?
Daniel.
