dyno sheet

It's a 1929.

I'd reckon some of their profiles maybe somewhat old fashioned although I thought they were already polydyne or at least sinusoidal (bensinger, kurz).
But I know they bought a huge stock when they bought the masters of Harmon&Collins and of Norris and those might be old fashioned.
Although I'm very intrigued by their -180 profile for the SR (that's what I personally use) low overlap lift, and 15mm total lift.
Of course one uses such profiles only on particular builds.
Unfortunately I have to little insight into European cam manufacturers as most of my network is still on the west coast.

My M1 is still from Wolverhampton Pre Matchless merger, 1929.

Will try to insert picture hope nobody gets pissed for short OT.

All the best

Christian

we copied the 25-130 profile and reduced the duration, and the program at Newman's "computer smoothed" the profile as well as increasing the maximum velocity from 0.004/degree to 0.005 per degree, this enabled us to retain almost all the under the curve from the original cam, yet drop nealry 10 degrees out its duration. Web cam already do this, very fast ramps and flanks

The Matchless is lovely, i am in the VMCC here ( Vintage motor cycle club) its all old Ariel's, Sunbeams etc

Thanks a lot I cherish your opinion.
In case we should meet someday I'll tell you the story of the bike over a glass of IPA :).
I do quite some porting and tuning work on vintage Brit bikes (DBD34 all the way to nourish Westlake 4v), mind i do it solely on a hobby base so I'm somewhat not too ignorant on Brit bikes.

As mentioned i wanted to call David or his already for a while for some questions.

Shortening duration and thus overlap lift is something that i always find verrrry sympathetic, as low overlap lift is written in bog letters in my preference book.

Kind greet'z

David Newman doesn't run the company anymore, he has left that to his son Ken.
if you call mention me, they know me well

I will put the cam design for the SR500 on their computer in a month or so, i have very light valve gear, so can have the ramps and flanks very fast, sort of like a 25-140 in duration, and overlap, but at a 1/3rd the price

I would like to meet you, Italy ? whereabouts ?
