Mikeys new to him 81

Sorry, yes that's what I meant to say, the AP63. Look at it's specs. They say it has 4000 ohms of resistance.

There it is your right you did say 4 ohms resistance
Sometimes I don't see every thread

When I took off the left side case it sounded like the worm gears ball bearing fell out
If so 5/16 " ball bearing

I hope you had the clutch lever pulled in when you took that pic or else your worm is clocked wrong. "At rest" (clutch lever not pulled in), the worm should look like this, the worm arm being at about 90° to the cable .....

To determine if the ball is missing, remove the adjuster screw. If the ball is gone, you'll be able to look right through the worm.

I need to take a closer look but that's what it looked like right after I pulled the cover
I remember you coaching me on how to clock the worm gear in correct position
Thanks !!
Edit : I need to take it apart for cleaning first but I'll make sure it's in the right position to start with

Ok just a question when I hit the electric start button I get a click no blown fuse just won't spin

You know how to use something like needle nose pliers to jump around the solenoid Mikey?
What does the solanoid looks like
I remember people doing that to cars to spin the starte

yup pull back the rubber boots, use a big tool with an insulated handle, don't touch the frame with the tool! It's a big spark moment, you need to use a firm hand, act like you MEAN it! when you do the deed.

I will give that a try !
But first off to lunch with old guys one of them will be helping me straighten out the 77's center stand today

Yeah... sparks are definitely gonna fly. There's a good possibility your tool will try and weld itself to the terminals. Be prepared to give it a good yank to pull it off the terminals
