Chrome paint

Smoke and Mirror`s. Snake Oil at best. Products like this have been around for a long time. Maybe OK for hobby use if not exposed to weather but it`s still just "paint".

I would think that for bits and pieces it may be fine. I have chrome and gold in my trove of spray paint cans (rattle cans) left over from kids projects over the years, The chrome was to cover wooden swords for youthful dueling pirates in some production or other.
Noted above, it is look, don't touch, it will wear away easily.

I have a can of “chrome” paint in the garage somewhere. Maybe in the summertime I’ll trying spray in a light coat on a black base. Prior use generated parts with silver paint on them. Lol.. Thought this may be new and improved “snake oil”

It is snake oil in the sense that you do NOT get a chrome hard finish, you get a chrome soft finish. Do not use

Pirates? Pirates that like pain and punishment?

2 cans base coat (size of cans not mentioned), one 6oz. can of chrome brush (less than a cup of paint), one preval power unit (must be the pressure unit for spraying ?). $399, that's three hundred not $3.99 . So..........maybe $399 to paint 2 helmets? Who wants a chrome helmet? I will say, good salesmanship.

Niedermeyer?

Wonder how this would compare to black acrylic lacquer base coat (duplicolor), acrylic lacquer chrome color coat (if there is such a thing), and then Spraymax 2K Clear? That would be about $50 to paint two helmets, if you desire a chrome helmet.

Edit, did some searching of chrome paint. Dupli Color does make an acrylic lacquer, Perfect Match, chrome paint. A lot of the other chrome paints are soft enamel, interior use only, not good for highway or dirt road use.

No need to wonder…

Shot with a chrome paint (probably duplicolor) with a 2k clear over it.

Clear kills the chrome effect cause it’s all based on light reflection.

It does however leave you with a nice reflective silver that doesn’t have metallic specs in it which is nice.

A smooth surface is also key in a good reflective surface. Texture kills it, as seen here.
I can say, very durable too!
