Cam Bearings Install

Here is the head and camshaft that has no bearings on either end do i install them or leave it be. i have no idea why some xs650's caame with no bearings in 1981
Bearings are way overrated, who needs em?

I don't know the history of what you have there but all years and ALL Xs650 motors came with cam bearings.
Yellow grease pencil is a clue there have been fingers in that motor after the factory was finished with it.

LOL - that engine would run for about 2 minutes before the seals were blown and oil shooting left and right out of the engine, if the thing didn't implode first.

No XS650 engine ever came without camshaft bearings and that photo is clearly not from an engine that has been run in that setup.

Making fun of newbies doesn't exactly encourage them. If people had the all the answers, they wouldn't come here in the first place.
 
i was told they didnt come with bearings should i use them or not.

Just to be clear: your motor does indeed require 4 cam bearings, 2 on each side as you may find in some parts diagrams
