My first snowmobile ride was on one of these (back in the early 60's). One of the locals had one for his trap line.
Clutch function consisted of sliding the motor back against the dual v-belts (with a hand operated mechanism). Cool thing about the machine is that it had a Ford 3 speed transmission in the power train. Top speed was about 6 mph, but it could pull a moose out of the woods (on a sled of course).
Picture is from the 'net. Looks like this one has upgraded the skis to metal, the one I rode still had wooden skis.

I don't know what the story is here but I got the photo from a UK website and some of the posters remember the rider doing road safety visits to schools. I think his name was Dave Taylor. Its an XS too by the look of it.

The guy was known as the Wheelie King and he once did a wheelie over the entire mountain course at Isle of Mann.

After taking a week to get the seized cylinders off I could finally split the crankcases and there was the ugliest crankshaft looking back at me. Now that will make you say WTF!

It's a 1972 Kawasaki H1 500. I knew the engine was seized when I got it but for what I paid I didn't care. It had been leaned against the back of a barn for 15 years before I dragged it away. Got to send the crank out for a rebuild to the same guy that did the crank for my RD recently.

I've got several bikes that I need to get done before I dive into the Kawasaki but I have been collecting parts for it. As soon as the weather gets warm enough I will be doing the frame[sandblast and paint]

Yeah! Her filmography is National Geographic worthy, especially her drone work. And she has become a world class off road rider, I am amazed sometimes at the speed she can maintain over difficult terrain with a heavily loaded bike. Good stuff!
