Magura Clutch Lever and Aluminum pushrod

Got some made.
These are a little different than the last ones I made. Instead of 8mm stock I went back to 5/16 stock. It's closer to the size of a OEM pushrod than 8mm, at least that's what my calipers say. Also I went with 6061AL instead of 7075AL. The 6061 has held up just fine in my bike.
So if you want one the price is $17.50 plus shipping. Shipping in the USA is $10.20

In the UK using Ebay 6075 is a difficult one to find in 5/16". However, 6082 seems quite common and has similar properties to 6061. The 6082 is readily available as 7.9mm (5/16") whereas 6061 seems to just be available in metric 8mm.

I have rerouted the cable and I believe I have it in the optimal position now - might be ad you suggest @Paul Sutton. I may try mixing up a batch of @gggGary ’s cable lube and try that too. Have to ride it now and see how it ferls with the new springs - it may be ok. I used to use the Water Buffalo as a point of reference for clutch pull force but now that it’s gone I done have anything to compare it to as the Ducati has a hydraulic clutch. Last year I attached a digital scale to the lever to measure the force needed to pull the lever. Perhaps I can try that again today.
Just ordered a bag of WS2 (tungsten disulphide powder), but it’s on a slow boat from China. Will be mixing up a batch of @gggGary ’s special cable lube and hopefully that will get me on the home stretch to get this clutch working well. @gggGary , what oil do you use and at what ratio with the powder?

I use a plastic squeeze bottle like this;

I ended up with about 8 quarts of two stroke oil on a motocross bike buy sell, so that. And that seems to be a good lube for many purposes, has good "stickyness" it stays on surfaces. I just add Dunno a couple tablespoons of WS2 to the bottle AND a fairly big machine nut as a shaker/stirrer cuz the WS2 wants to settle out.
That's it. I also keep some dry powder in small bottles with a brush cap. (cleaned out nail polish bottle is perfect) I'm big on brushing it on rubber seals before any other lube goes on. (think fork seals)

From a post in the "Homemade and Unique Tools" thread, I just bought a bottle of full synthetic 20W-50 for cable lubing. The poster said it works great but we'll see. I was using just normal motor oil, whatever was on hand (5W-30, 10W-30, straight 30) and it has worked OK. I even tried STP but it's pretty thick, maybe too much so for when it's cold out.

Thinking maybe get something like this. I wouldn’t mix up a big batch at a time and I like the applicator tips. They are a bit on the small side and fairly expensive for what they are. To make @gggGary ’s brew I’ll probably use whatever extra oil in on the shelf and believe me there’s a lot of that!

The WS2 powder arrived today👍. All the way from Taiwan. Just ordered some small squeeze bottles from Amazon as posted above . Will mix up a batch this weekend. Can’t oil the cable tho as the bike will be at the show. Anxious to try out the new lube. Just need to decide what oil to use. I have lots in stock fro 0W20 all the way through to 15W40.

I’d be interested in an aluminum pushrod for clutch if they’re still being made. My wife has a 78 650 and we have a hard time finding neutral when it warms up.
