....the company expects that battery availability will only grow and is looking at expanding wherever solar is popular. Right now, that means it's focused on California and Texas, but Hall doesn't expect it to stay that way: "Solar is the cheapest form of energy in just about all 50 states, and you're going to see the storage follow behind it."

Savic, a new ebike being manufactured in Oz, 80hp, 200nms of torque, 0-100 3.5 seconds, and get this 616 lbs, you wouldn't want to drop the bloody thing.

So E-bicycles are headed towards the same battles dirt bikes, then mountain bikes and then ATV's have faced for years; yes there are "trail snobbists" who throw "environmental damage" red-herrings about to deny "them" access. I've been there: founding member NOHVCC.org ('92-'95)

On beautiful country trails, fights over e-bikes can get ugly

But I see the point.
Some old fart like me using a bit of electric to enable me to use the trails :cautious: vs some hot rod turning them into a BMX course, with ruts, washouts, and terraforming to create killer courses.
Not the reason for "nature areas".
fersher some issues that will take a while to work out.

E-transit selling at $5000 off list.

So are your bikes being moved out into the field? 😬
I do think about it a bit when I slap the charger on them. Kinda put them where they could burn peacefully on the dirt floor in the shed.....but even if nothing else caught fire, the smoke would fuggle a lot of stuff out there.

I know there was quite a bit of news a while back about electric car batteries igniting and taking the owners house with them. It has to give electric car owners some pause, I would think.

I wrote something a while back about this electrical storage building near me that caught fire and exploded, injuring a bunch of firefighters. It was a small building packed with lithium ion batteries that were charged up during the day , when there is a surplus provided by all the solar panels here, then it discharges after dark to ease the load on the power grid.
Anyways, there was a short somewhere and things were smoldering and heating up and smoking.
Firefighters showed up and just as they were set to enter the building the place exploded. It was bad.

My wife and I take daily walks in our neighborhood and I have commented a few times about this guy who owns a new Tesla and he always leaves the car outside. I couldn’t understand why someone who had the room in his garage would leave such an expensive car outside in the elements. Then last night the light bulb went on! 💡 Duh!…….He’s afraid of burning down his house!

and bragging rights. Look ME, look Me mommmmy

This guy is a bit of an Elon fanboy but well worth watching. Jim mebby you can put a clothespin on your nose. :lmao:
I watch the factory in action scenes and honestly I'm lost, the level and complexity of the automation is astounding.
Sounds like an electric vehicle is closer to our garages than we might think.

Yeah, any more syrup and the video woulda slid right off my monitor. :wink2:
Lesse... a video about Tesla, using more superlatives than I'd ever knew existed... by a "market guy"... who claims he isn't... who just happens to include the word "Tesla" in his channel name.... yeah... color me impressed. :sneaky:
'Bout the only thing in that... um... video that caught my ear was Tesla supposedly using "zero" rare earth metals and achieving the same performance. They pull that one off and it'll mean that leaving Elon to Twitter and his culture wars was well worth it.

Good thing I took a good toke off the pipe 'fore I watched that.... :laugh2:

Edit: Sorry Gary. Next time I'll try the clothspin instead of the pipe. ;)

I don't like the intro that entirely glosses over the dirty doings of Musk in the early years. It even goes so far as to say Musk invented the whole concept.
The smell of male bovine excrement is overwhelming.
