On the gun board I hang out on, I'm somewhat renowned for my farmer-engineered projects.

I posted a picture of my modified snowblower with the 13 horse Predator engine and referred to it as the "Binford 6000". One member thought that was both appropriate and hilarious and posted a link to a site that had a variety of Tim the Toolman-related stickers and opined that I should label some of my machines.

Tickled my funny bone, so I when ahead and ordered a handful.

I'm toying with the idea of repowering one of my "spare Ariens blowers" everyone has a spare blower right? But I think Ill go a bit smaller and get a little smaller Predator around 6-7 horse!

How wide is the cut on your Ariens? 13 HP on the 28 inch is a little overkill, but not as much as you would think. A full cut of heavy snow will kick the governor in but doesn't lug it down. I also have an 8 horse on a 24 inch machine and I need to feather the drive clutch in heavy going. The 13 will power right through at a walking pace.

The Ariens are 24 inch. Biggest problem especially this season has been too warm of snow. Very wet and heavy and sticky plugging up in the chute! I'd take minus 5º any day over 33º or above!
