Breather plate left out.

I've just put a new head on my xs and found I haven't put this bit (breather plate) in the lower part.
Do I need to take it off again or is it OK without it?
He asks hopefully...

My TX didn't have one when I pulled it down, so it doesn't have one. I see no need for it.
