A gas tank dent repair

I finally get it !!!! that pencil thing is a magnet that puts his special prybar in the correct position to do the next push/pry. Dittos on the awesomeness of that light.

This guy is showing TOO much info on a special operation, unless he plans to sell the tools. A guy could build those tools as he needs them, eventually he would have a whole set. Heating the area beforehand is probably more benificial for the paint than it is for the metal.

I like his tool tray full of bunches of different handles and tips.
I like the fitted disc that he puts into the gas cap neck.
And he has one of those fancy-expensive tank holder jigs. And, of course, the light bar.
He has a lot invested, so I can understand the $535 price. But, I can't see anyone ever paying that much to repair an XS650 tank, which being 40-years old would probably need new paint anyway.

For those interested, there are numerous videos on YouTube of guys doing this kind of work. Some of the saves are really amazing. It’s fun to watch.

Unrelated, but here in the Phoenix area about 15 years ago we had a legendary hail storm that just ruined tons of cars. I worked with this guy that had a newish Honda Accord, it looked like it had been worked over with a ball peen hammer, must’ve had close to a hundred dimples in it. The insurance company sent it to a paint less dent repair and when he got it back it was dead straight, they buffed it out and it looked like a brand new car. I couldn’t believe it. 😳
