I bought 3 alternator rotors for my xs 650 special. They all failed because the nylon spool that contains the field coil comes loose and breaks the connection. The people who make them don't understand that this is subject to cyclical rotational acceleration. Their plastic spool should be replaced by cotton fabric and a kind of epoxy. I am not buying a fourth rotor from them.

I would be checking runnout on your crankshaft - just to be sure it's not the cause of repeated failures. And many of us have had bad rotors rewound here:
