Post a Photo of your Dog

and why is it whenever you point your camera at something, there's the dog?
Similar, a dog knows you so well, knows where your attention is focussed, makes sure that where it is. Unless you're in a bad mood when it will be seen sloping off looking submissive.

why is it when you point your camera at your dog they always manage to show their best pathetic look?
Staring at them while taking a photo is one way we might be putting them off about the experience. Cameras can seem strange and be intimidating to some dogs. Additionally, cameras make noises when zooming or when taking the picture. And they may make some sounds that are too high for us to be able to hear, but dogs do.

Stanley Coren (Intelligence of dogs, etc) suggests that dogs made man (as well as man made dog). The fella may be right. This is not my dog>

Now for bear makes girl...

A proposed caption> Bear: "Baby I'll keep you safe from that nasty ol' wolf....so...come with me to my cave..." That's from the suppressed version of Little Red Riding Hood. I think Larry Flynnt maybe owns the film... ;)

A crossed breed of dog of unusual energy and intelligence and linguistic potential is the offspring of male dachshund and female Jack Russel. For some reason, they say, that reversing the sex of the pairing produces pups that tend to shed a lot, and not reversing produces pups that shed very little. The JR is supposed to hunt fox, the D is supposed to hunt badger. The female example is very demanding of attention...I have to play Monopoly or checkers or "chase", and she's fond of charades... A real live wire... beware! It's worth the trouble, but it wouldn't work if she had to be left alone... Actual dialogue, albeit we cannot discuss, for example Kierkegaard. She insists on discussing only matters of doggy interest, squirrels and lizards, dinner, toys... she does not like Lassie re-runs, but she's fine with Rocky and Friends...and she invents games... Honey got the bitch from the pound for 35 bucks. The most interesting dog person I've have ever known. No pic, but the examples on the 'net include pictures that are very close.

Our beloved, dear old Golden Doodle "Millie" died in late August at nearly 15 and Mrs. MaxPete said. "Never again, no dogs or other pets - ever!"

Uh-huh....

Meet "Hazel" our new 6-month-old Australian Chocolate Labradoodle who arrived in Harrow in early November.....who is now utterly devoted to the Mrs. - and vice-versa.

I am not sure what makes her an "Australian" - perhaps it is her frequent use of her "extended" vocabulary. Also, note her yellowish eyes which are characteristic of chocolate labs. She is a tad shy but a real cutie.

Dachshunds.
Black one is 13 and Brown one is 10.
Black one thinks she is a person and Brown one knows she is a dog.
Anyone knows about them knows they have back problems. 5 years ago the black one needed a spine operation. $10K! We did the operation and cancelled a vacation trip for the family.
Fear the day either of them passes as my kids are 18-24 and have had these dogs with them most of their lives.

I totally agree - it is very tough when our hairy little friends pass away. However, I think that they really do care about us as much as we care about them - and they trust us to look after them.

...and a part of that is knowing when it is time to say goodbye - as difficult as that may be.

I get it. You can't put a price on love.
