Right now I'm listening to...

Tonight on the turntable:

DAVID BOWIE - Ziggy Stardust
Half Speed Master cut on a restored Newman VMS machine from the original Trident Studio master tapes. Flippin expensive vinyl, but what a sound!

PETER GABRIEL - Plays Live
Another remaster on heavy vinyl. Classic early PG live recording.

washed down with a bottle of Primitivo red from Puglia Italy
Primitivo is the origin of the Zinfandel grape in the USA.

ON THE TURNTABLE LAST NIGHT: TEARS FOR FEARS ALBUM ELEMENTAL.
The first release following Curt Smith leaving.

Dipped in Funk, held aloft and dripping!
Some lucky SOB's were in the audience that night for that experience.
One that I have to revisit from time to time for a fix.
Just bought audiophile 1/2 speed remasters form the master tapes on heavy vinyl of:
ZIGGY & THE SPIDERS FROM MARS
ALADIN SANE
YOUNG AMERICANS
STATION TO STATION
Getting back into DB after a long time away from him.
Brilliant way to re-awaken my love of his music.

Played Heroes and Low a lot back then ..Could not stand his image though
Much prefered his Slim White Duke look and image.
I was a young love machine around the Low time. Agreed to let my sister & Friend (Bowie fans) to cut my hair; fu(k me if they didn’t go and dye my hair like the Low cover shot……FU(KIN’ GINGER! With a bit of blond…….I was not happy. Went to school and bugger me the girls loved it, I was Uber cool.
teachers sent me home with some stern words.
Different times me thinks……:lmao::laugh2::sick:;)

Barry Manilow on BBC 2 all night tonight.
Copacabana and cocktails 🍹 for me……Tee Hee!
Lola what a girl.

How come this song is politically OK
but Tom Jones and Delilah is banned for its violent overtones?

Because Manilow is in a protected class and Tom Jones was a notorious womanizer. Just my opinion.

On the turntable tonight: Bowie - ALADDIN SANE
Half speed master from the original trident studio tapes.
Cut on a recapped and restored Neumann VMS80 lathe.
Awesome sound, you are in the studio with them laying down the tracks.

Half speed Master's...
A whole other level!
I have several myself.
LOVE my vinyl...
Enjoy.
Sure do enjoy the vinyl. I have over 3,500 discs at the last listing I made.
Everything from Classical to Grunge Rock, Doris Day to Alice in Chains; but they have to be a classic of their type.
A lot of Mobile Fidelity (MoFi) / Analogue Productions UHQR stuff etc.....
Even have my Mom & Dads old 78's get an occasional spin.
I buy and sell a few collectible / audiophile discs throughout the year.
But the core collection stays put; just with new additions.
Ads.

I gather you play guitar?
I'm a failed guitarist turned drummer / percussionist.
Musics in the blood.
